MEET US
Blend Design LA is a full service design studio created by an architect and an interior designer. We design homes, hotels and everything in between. Our goal is to create many more memorable and experience engaging spaces on budget, on time and with a passion to help home and business owners realize the best potential for their properties.
The Architect, David Chong is a licensed California architect. He has nearly two decades of architectural design experience in both concept and execution. Throughout his design journey, David has provided his never-ending abundance of creativity to large iconic landmarks and small sensible houses. He is resourceful in finding smart and creative solutions for design challenges in residential and commercial architecture. He is also an expert in hillside architecture which is deemed challenging among the architectural design community. His designs have successfully transformed many ordinary structures into engaging architecture and made numerous happy and proud property owners. Growing up in the Caribbean and professionally trained in New York, David is seasoned with east coast sophistication and a relaxed charm only found in islands. David holds a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. Besides being an endevouring architect, David is also an avid golfer.
The Interior Designer, Kelly Jao is an NCIDQ certified interior designer. She has a decade of design experience involving premium hotels, luxury multifamily and single family residences. Her projects and clients portfolio includes hospitality brands from Marriott, IHG, Hilton and luxury homes for Hollywood celebrities. Growing up in Asia and professionally trained in California, her designs are inspired by both sides of the Pacific. She is adept at capturing clients' desires for inspiring spaces and realizing them into memorable design ideas. Her design touches and exquisite vision have been showcased in public areas and guest rooms in numerous luxury and boutique hotels. Her creations are versatile in a variety of styles from the timeless and classic to eclectic and modern. Chances are you have spent a night in one of her hotel projects. Kelly holds a Master of Interior Architecture degree from the UCLA/Cal Poly Pomona Joint Master's Program. Besides her relentless love for design and real estate, Kelly is also a life long student of yoga.
